Graphics:
4 out of 5: The graphics are extremely fast, pretty smooth, and varied in detail. Unfortunately, the "extreme" speed and inability to see what's up ahead are more overwhelming than immersive.
Music:
4 out of 5: While it can be a little repetitive, the techno in Extreme-G sounds remarkably like the CD-based techno in Wipeout. It fits the action well, although this sort of techno is a bit too devoid of melody for my taste.
Sound FX:
4 out of 5: Most of the sounds are OK, but there are a few that really stand out. For example, the ping sound of the countdown before each race fits perfectly, as do some of the bikes' engine sounds.
Play Control:
5 out of 10: The control is fair at best. It could be worse, but the control and overall gameplay failed to draw me into the fast paced motion on-screen. Also, you may want to change the gas to a button other than Z. Holding Z down for so long actually caused my finger to cramp a little.
Frustration Factor:
2 out of 10 (10 being the worst):
Extreme-G moves by too fast for it to be much of anything other than quick thrills. On the higher difficulties it can get more difficult, but if you get too frustrated, you can get some codes off the web to give you the advantage.
