Graphics:
4 out of 5: 2D rendered graphics were nice a few years ago, but now they just seem dated. Everything is so cutesy that it can be hard to tell friend from foe.
Music:
5 out of 5: Happy, happy music fills Yoshi's Story. I mean Happy. Check out this sample (192K)... If you hate this kind of thing, you certainly won't like Yoshi's Story. Even so, it's well done.
Sound FX:
5 out of 5: Just like the music, the sound effects in Yoshi's Story are cartoony and happy. Once again, if you hate this kind of thing, you certainly won't like Yoshi's Story. Still, it's high quality, happy cartoon audio.
Play Control:
7 out of 10: Walking and running are a little touchy with the analog stick, but the ability to float repeatedly makes up for this. Overall, the control is solid, but not spectacular.
Frustration Factor:
3 out of 10 (10 being the worst):
I lost interest in Yoshi's Story pretty quickly, and having to start over to play a different route was annoying.
