Mr. N64's Breakdown of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon's Game Elements:

Graphics:
5 out of 5: This game completely captures the style of children's anime. The real-time cinemas, level design, etc. all ooze a unique culture unique from western games.

Music:

5 out of 5: There are two actual songs, complete with Japanese lyrics. The music varies greatly from area to area, and while some of it is very MIDI-like and annoying, the music changes enough to avoid any problems. Some of the instrument samples are of exceptional quality.

Sound FX:

5 out of 5: Good explosions, good voice effects, etc. Fits perfectly.

Play Control:

5 out of 10: Mystical Ninja's control can be pretty bad at times. The responsiveness of the jump controls and the aiming of certain weapons are the biggest problems. The level design, namely the lack of fatal drops or obstacles, keeps the control from ruining the game.

Frustration Factor:

2 out of 10 (10 being the worst): The regular enemies don't vary and are pretty lame. At times the control can frustrate (see Play Control above). There's no replay value. Overall, the game isn't very frustrating at all.
