Part 3 What Happened I do not know. Here are some of my thoughts and suggestions from others. Gust of wind pushed the plane off the narrow runway before
I could stop it? What should I have done Overfly the airport and checked the real wind. |
Damage Done Left wing tip needed to be repaired. The Repair Repairs took 3 months. While my plane sat at Animas Airpark, someone stole my entire emergency kit. Whoever did this, had to work hard because it was under my other baggage that I had to leave. The emergency water jugs I had, plastic gallon jugs from the grocery store, sprung a leak and drained out in the baggage compartment. Not a real problem. The stabilizer section had to be removed and sent out for repairs. One side was completely fixed. They warned me that there was some corrosion on that side and I should consider fixing the other side. The wingtip had to be repaired and that was fixed at Animas. The belly patch was also fixed at Animas and recorded on a 337. |
