Theses pictures and text go with the Tall Grass Strip Story

This first pictrue is one of the resort store that is in front of the Tall Grass Strip. That is my grandson in the cowboy hat and his dog standing in front. My son took these pictures and had my grandson stand in to show perspective.

This next picture shows the field from the place where we started our takeoff run. The tracks in front of my grandson may be the tracks from N4163V as the pictures were taken 2 weeks later. The camera was a wide angle "point and shoot". The distance to the uncut grass was not as far as it appears. My grandson is waving us to take off.

Now we see my grandson pointing us to head for the path cut in the tall grass field.

The picture below is my grandson standing in front of the tall grass. This is probable 40 inches as it is taller than he is.

This is looking down the track in the middle of the field. I thought that the wheels would be clear of the grass on both sides but in the origional picture I can see the tire tracks in the grass on each side.

This last picture is 180 degrees from the previous and looking at the point where we started our take off run.

Well, we made it.
