To introduce ourselves, we are Jerry and LuAnn Thatcher and we have lived with Samoyeds for over 11 years. We have been active members of the Samoyed Association of Minneapolis and St. Paul (S.A.M.S) in Minnesota and for the last couple years, active members in the Minnesota Malamute Club. Our favorite activities include pack hikes, therapy work at a local nursing home, skijoring, sledding, carting, winter & summer camping, and backpacking.

Samual Joshua is our first dog. He's 11 years old and blind from glaucoma, but still going strong. Life to Sam is being the only dog. He has had words with our 3 year old male, Qajaq, regarding who should be "top dog" a few times now. Needless to say Qajaq explains the facts of life (and youth) to Sam, but Sam keeps trying to retain the alpha dog position in the pack.

Meesha is our first show dog (Millcreek's Little Glacier Angel). Jerry keeps telling her that she is "perfect" and I swear she can understand exactly what he is saying to her and loves it. She is a real pleaser and excels at obedience and agility. Her favorite activity is hiking, with or without a pack and prefers that it end with all of us in a tent for the night.

Qajaq (pronounced - kayak) is Meesha's son. Qajaq's registered name is: Glacier Ice Errant Voyageur. What he likes to do most is follow LuAnn around and watch her; periodocally begging until he gets attention. Although he likes to sled and ski-jor, he does so at his own pace. His true love is therapy and demos, where he can get as much attention and affection as he wants.

Pitsiaq (pronounced - pete-see-ack) is our newest addition. Her registered name is: Bobmardon Glacier Ice Pitsiaq. She is known for her dog friendly disposition and working attitude. Like Qajaq, she loves to sled and she does this like she does everything; with two speeds, stop or warp drive. Pitsiaq, like all young girls, has a rock and roll idol. Arkansas of the band Z, credited with bass & vocals on their latest album "Music For Pets".
