The Assassination Of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR)
In the 1960's, my father once told me that he had heard a
rumor that FDR had been assassinated.
The rumor goes like this:
FDR was shot point blank
in the face with a 22 caliber pistol.
I've never heard of this anywhere
else and have no further information about it.

I received an e-mail from a web visitor who prefers to be anonymous:
"I heard of this back in the '50's when anti-communist
feelings ran high. The story was that FDR had two visitors, one
Russian before he was found dead. The undertaker is said to have
declared him shot by a 45 in the head. What made the story ominous
was that he was never displayed and was buried deep in the ground
with a large amount of concrete poured over him. The closed casket
is the most troublesome aspect because he could be made to look
good cosmetically if he died naturally. Reconstruction of a 45
wound would draw too many into the cover-up. The undertaker's name
has never been made public to my knowledge. A good place to start
for any investigation."
After reading this I recalled that my father also mentioned the coffin
was kept closed for no apparent reason.
